This Cookie Policy explains how eLaw uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve user experience, and to provide information to site owners.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function. These include authentication cookies (elaw_access, elaw_refresh) that keep you signed in, and session cookies that protect against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be disabled.
Functional. Remember preferences such as theme and last-viewed page so the Service feels consistent across sessions.
Analytics. We use Umami, self-hosted on our own infrastructure, to understand aggregate usage patterns so we can improve the Service. The page-view script sets no cookie and loads for every visitor without asking for consent.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Third-Party Cookies
When you make a payment, our payment processor (Stripe) may set cookies on the checkout page to detect fraud and complete the transaction. Those cookies are subject to Stripe's privacy and cookie policies.
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from working. Where required by law, we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies; you can withdraw consent at any time from your browser's site settings.
There is no analytics choice to set: our page-view analytics is self-hosted, cookieless Umami that loads for every visitor.
6. Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends GPC, we set no optional cookies. Our self-hosted, cookieless page-view analytics loads for every visitor, including browsers that send GPC.
